DNS (Domain Name System) poisoning, also known as DNS spoofing, is a cyber attack in which the attackers manipulate the domain name resolution process to redirect users to malicious websites. The DNS is responsible for translating human-readable domain names into IP addresses that computers use to locate and connect to each other on the internet. DNS poisoning interferes with this translation process, leading users to unintended and potentially harmful destinations.
